Sketch of the Day

   Daily Visual Log

I have come to realize that I am happiest when I complete tasks, like when I finish a painting or have a photo that came out better than I expected. Giving myself simple daily challenges is proving to be really helpful in keeping me focused, sharp and on the lookout for anything that could prove to have a potential use in my next painting. I see the world in shapes and colors. I see angles and shades as forms. I see subtleties in texture. I experience constant, intense visual input. I think it's different than what other people see. I don't really fully understand it yet. As my eyesight in my right eye is declining, I am getting frustrated. I am also getting more determined to observe the world and all its fascinating beauty, whether it is a sunset, the dancing of leaves in a tree or a simple rock. They all give me inspiration and they make me want to create art for as long as I can.

I am adding this section to show a little insight into my world and to push myself so that my work does not become stagnant. I am using pencils, pens, ink, watercolor, acrylics
